First Post - General Supplement Rules


The General Supplement Rules



  1. Always consult a physician before trying new supplements! It is your health at risk, not the companies selling supplements!

  2. Supplements are just that, supplements, there is no magic do-nothing-while-this-supplement-does-the-work pill. Supplements are meant to enhance an already strict diet and fitness plan.

  3. There are many categories of supplements some may require more research then others.

  4. When using supplements, follow directions and try not to fall into the advertising traps that many companies have. Always look for the studies that prove the case.

  5. When purchasing supplements be sure that you aren't getting ripped off. The general rule of thumb is if you can find it online it will be 20-50% off of a retail stores price. Always aim for sites that price match cheaper sites, big savings this way.

  6. If you shouldn't be taking a supplement, then don't take it whether it be for health reasons, or age restrictions, these warnings are put in place for your protection.

The most common categories are as follows:

  • Creatines

  • Proteins

  • Fat burners

  • Bulking Product/Weight Gainers

  • Testosterone Boosters (must be 21 years old, should be 22-25)

  • Glutamines

  • Pre-workout Supplements

  • Post-workout Supplements

  • Misc



Who I am


I am not a doctor, nor am I anyone with a degree in health or supplement information. I have been weight lifting for a number of years and have gained a lot of knowledge about supplements that I would like to share with people. Another reason for starting this blog is to help keep people from getting ripped off by retail companies that sell supplements at enormous markups.


I do not claim to know everything, and I am always up for learning more things. That being said I do know a lot and have kept up on supplement for a long time. I have tried many products with mixed results, however I have recently started to work very hard to get myself back in shape since the birth of my daughter.
